ABOUT SCREENING ROOM
SCREENING ROOM ATL | LA was created by the amazing
Actress\ Producer, Khalimah Gaston to foster, help grow, and support the indie film scene of Atlanta and to connect us artists through our art.
Screening Room ATL | LA is a PREMIER networking and screening event that has been around since 2016.
Screening Room Atl took place at GALLERY 992 in the historic West End, every other Wednesday Night before the pandemic; but after premiering at beautiful Negril Village in Atlanta for 2 years every Wednesday.
The basic format of our event: We have music at the beginning of the night to give people a chance to talk, get comfy and seated, next we show projects then immediately after the host of Screening Room, sits down and interviews producers, directors then guest executive panelists give feedback to the artists.
Projects include music videos, music shorts, short films, trailers, feature length films, and clips from feature length films ranging from independent to major big-budget projects. Notable projects that have screened at Screening Room ATL include the season premiere of the popular viral web series Side Chick, season finale of Queen Sugar for the Oprah Winfrey Network, a sneak peek screening of I Am Not Your Negro, and Brooklyn. Blue. Sky. a critically acclaimed web series later picked up by BET, Produced & Directed by Rhavynn Drummer, Casting Director for Tyler Perry Studios. Notable speakers include Rhavynn Drummer, Deidra McDonald (Director of BronzeLens Film Festival), Chris Hicks (Director of Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Film and Entertainment, who also sponsored A Seat At The Table, a panel event for the best of the best projects that screen through Screening Room ATL), and producer/actor Omar Dorsey.
