A Seat at the Table
A Seat at the Table (ASATT) is a monthly screening & networking event that has spotlighted and given a voice to filmmakers from the local Atlanta film community and nationwide. ASATT bridges the gap between industry keynote speakers and the indie artists to engage in dialogue, motivate and mentor creative minds. The demographic age range is from 18 - 55 years old; filmmakers and film enthusiast as well.The films are diverse in subject matter and length. The content focuses on cultural awareness, dynamic execution, creativity, and social change as well. The films screened are the best of the best that has come through Screening Room ATL.
A Seat at the Table was birthed by the creator of Screening Room ATL (SRATL), which is the main screening process for all of A Seat at the Table content. SRATL is an opportunity for local content makers of all levels and expertise to show their short films, trailers, music videos and short form content alike. It's a safe haven to have an open discussion with one another in the community to collaborate and grow. Where as ASATT is for the more well crafted and thought out film/ filmmaker.
The first sponsor was The Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Film and Entertainment (AMOFE) has streamlined the permitting process for film productions, facilitates employment of local talent, creates production-related educational and training opportunities, and safeguards the interests of residents and businesses affected by film productions.
